About The Film
Endless Cycle is a narrative short film about love, identity, and resilience. At its heart, it’s not a story about illness. It’s a story about the people who walk with us through life’s hardest moments.
The film follows Ryan, a woman confronting a life-changing diagnosis after years of living with uterine fibroids. As she faces a critical decision, her community - including her husband, family, friends, and even her doctor - become her source of strength. Told with quiet intimacy and through Ryan's own voice, Endless Cycle reflects on how love sustains us when pain continues to find its way back.
Inspiration
Did you know that approximately half a million hysterectomies are performed in the United States each year? By age 49, more than 8 in 10 Black women will experience fibroids. 1 in 5 women treated see them return in 5 years.
Writer-Director-Producer Jessica Kennedy Vickers drew from her own journey with fibroids and a hysterectomy to bring this story to life. For generations, Black women have carried these experiences in silence. With Endless Cycle, Jessica aims to break that silence, using film as a space for healing, dialogue, and visibility.
Mission
While rooted in one woman’s story, Endless Cycle speaks universally to anyone who has faced tough choices, leaned on their loved ones, or found strength in vulnerability. By amplifying voices too often left out of the conversation, the film seeks to inspire empathy, foster community, and remind us of the power of love that endures.
